“Slowing Down to Go Faster”
A Presentation on Meditation by Robin Olson
When we deepen our awareness of what drives us, we enhance our relationships, careers, and adventures. However, starting this journey can be challenging amidst the daily and often overwhelming demands of life. Robin Olson, a survivor of stress and overwhelm, discovered the power of slowing down to move forward effectively. Join Robin as she shares impactful stories and reveals how she realized the need for personal change when she repeatedly asked, “Why does this keep happening to me?” She will teach you the “whys” and “how-tos” of becoming your best self. Her approach integrates mindfulness practices with meditation, breathwork, and guided inquiry exercises, along with practice sessions to maximize learning. Participants will leave with practical techniques they can immediately apply, gaining clarity, confidence, and an understanding of what it truly means to slow down to go faster.
“Meditation is a process of lightening up, of trusting the basic goodness of what we have and who we are, and of realizing that any wisdom that exists, exists in what we already have.”
—Pema Chödrön
Meditation Starts as a Tool
Meditation ia a tool that calms you. A tool that improves your wellbeing. Meditation develops into a practice. By connecting to your inner being you begin to trust what arises. Meditation moves on to become a way of life for continued peace inside and outside.
Continuous ruminations of the appointment we missed, of the work project that got rejected, a fender-bender, or an argument with our partner, take a toll on our bodies. Science has now proven that thirty minutes of meditation practiced on a consistent basis will strengthen your immune system and reduce blood pressure in as little as eight weeks. Even just twenty minutes a day can contribute to the reduction of cortisol in the body which is responsible for our stress response. Meditation also improves our attention span and helps us have better sleep.
Meditation Teaches How to Respond. Not React.
How many times a day do you react to situations instead of responding to them? With practice, meditation teaches you to respond rather than react. We are bombarded daily by external stimuli and our thoughts. We have on average approximately 70,000 thoughts in a day. How we view these thoughts dictates the actions we take.
Are you a reactor or a responder? Are you formulating a comeback before the person you are talking to has finished speaking? Or are you waiting until the person completes their thought?
Meditation Returns You to Your Path
When you choose to transform, you choose to break old habits and beliefs that knocked you off your path, interrupting your natural connection to Spirit. Establishing a meditation practice will assist you to be vulnerable with yourself and others. Meditation will help you explore how you got to where you are, and how to consciously decide to move forward. Through continued practice, you will gain the confidence to create your own path.
Transformation Through Meditation
Meditation is a way to transform ourselves. We are not merely changing our behavior or thoughts. With change, you can always go back. You can move to another house, city, or state, but you will be the same person. Wherever you go, there you are. I won’t help you to change. I teach you the practice of meditation which leads to transformation. Transformation is an evolution. I guide you to look deep inside yourself; at your fears, beliefs, passions, successes, behaviors—everything that comes up for you.

Testimonial
“Robin developed a custom presentation for my organization in tactical breathwork and meditation that addressed the needs of our employees. I work at a large organization that trains emergency responders around the world. She researched how meditation, breathwork, and gratitude practices provide a direct positive impact to the most common health issues that impact our employees, as well as students, such as high blood pressure and stress. Robin not only provided us with useful, easy-to-use tools to implement breathwork and meditation practices in our daily lives, but also had the class participants practice each one. I have received numerous positive comments from our staff about the presentation Robin provided. Robin was easy to work with, accommodating, and engaging with our employees. I highly recommend Robin Olson and would absolutely work with her again in the future.”
